Our Refinery Client Sells Our Product For Us: A Metegrity Story

In the early 1990s, our asset integrity management system entered the risk management market. At this point in time, one of our refinery clients in North America was using both Visions and a different asset-management tool and approached us to learn more about the solutions that Visions could deliver.
The company sent their representatives to audit their refinery facilities to determine if the software being used met their specific needs. Essentially, their task would be to determine which system would be purchased and implemented, Visions or the other assessment-management tool.
During this time, when the representatives were on route to one of their North American refinery facilities that was currently using Visions, we received a phone call. The refinery manager expressed concern that the representatives who were coming to examine the system they had in place for about five years - which happened to be Visions - may request that the managers change to a different product. The manager asked that our Metegrity representatives be on site to validate the full capabilities of our software, provide the representatives with demonstrations, and be there to explain the full reach of our product.
This was an important moment in our history and in our continued expansion into the risk-assessment software market. The two representatives were very impressed by what they learned of Visions and how it served this refinery. Following the meeting, the representatives made a recommendation that Visions be implemented in the two of their facilities that did not have up-to-date risk-assessment programs. They had discovered from their audits of their other refineries that we offered a superior product.
Further, at one of their annual meetings of inspection groups for its North America refineries, our user, from that same refinery that called us in, pulled up our system. His fellow inspectors from other refinery locations, that were using different assessment software, could not believe that he was logged in remotely. At the end of his presentation of our system, there was some tension in the room since the other inspectors wished to use Visions instead of their current tools.
Ultimately, it was this very refinery’s users, and their positive experience with our asset integrity system that lead to their vehement request to continue using Visions. Our users’ request to have us there to demonstrate the reach of our product, confirmed the advantages offered by Visions.
