NorthWest Redwater Partnership Selects Metegrity’s Mechanical Integrity Software, Visions Enterprise®, for the Newly Built Sturgeon Refinery
Calgary, Alberta –
NorthWest Redwater Partnership (NWRP) has selected Metegrity Inc., the global leader in Asset Integrity Management (AIM), to integrate and support its mechanical integrity strategies for the newly built Sturgeon Refinery – the first new major refinery build in North America in 30 years. Metegrity was chosen for the exemplary risk prevention and cost savings provided by their globally trusted AIM software, Visions Enterprise®, which incorporates Risk Based Inspection principles.
After a detailed assessment, NWRP identified Visions Enterprise® as the ideal choice to better manage assets, mitigate risks, optimize costs, and meet regulatory requirements in a streamlined, efficient fashion. Visions offered significant ease of capturing and reporting critical inspection data. Utilizing Risk Based Inspection principles, it helps to diminish the risk of equipment failure (and unplanned shutdowns) by a considerable amount. The software also enables an integrated approach, given its ability to use existing data from other systems, such as IBM Maximo Interface and OSIsoft PI Data Historian.
“Visions’ robust functionality, flexible architecture, and user-friendliness were key in their decision making process,” says Robert Jablonski, Senior Vice President at Metegrity. “Our software comes ready out-of-the-box, while remaining highly configurable to any corporation’s unique strategies. In addition to the rapid and strategically customized implementation, our software will help them lower the risk of harm to people by predicting and preventing physical asset failures. NWRP can expect to see greater plant reliability, improved safety, reduced risk of unplanned shutdowns, exponential cost savings and a rapid return on investment – right from implementation.”
Metegrity’s rapid implementation of the Visions platform to protect their assets – a competitive speed of deployment for which the company has become known – allowed NWRP to remain on schedule with their assets protected and their safety concerns mitigated. Further simplifying the process for NWRP was the flexibility of Visions to manage and protect both fixed and rotating equipment types from a single platform.
